Minority AIDS Project was the first community-based AIDS service organization established and managed by people of color in the United States. It was the first of its kind birthed from a faith-based institution, the Unity Fellowship Church of Christ. Long before faith based programming was fashionable MAP began providing HIV/AIDS prevention education, testing, counseling, peer support, psycho-social, and home care services.
