Gardner Street Elementary School dedicated it's autitorium to Michael Jackson in 1989, renaming it the Michael Jackson Auditorium, however Michael's name was covered up during the 2005 trial.
Thanks to the determined efforts of a group of MJ fans on Facebook called the Uncover Michael Jackson's Name (The Gardner St. School Issue Campaign), a judge ordered the school to remove the plywood that had been covering Michael's name all these years. The plywood came off on October 15, 2010! To see video of the removal of the plywood, go HERE!
The school is in desperate need of school supplies and money though, and the Uncover MJ's Name Team is asking us all to donate what we can to show the powers that be that they made the right decision in showing his name again!
Donations are made via Paypal to the Uncover MJ's Name campaign who then sends the donations to the school on your behalf:
This cause is also supported by the Michael Jackson Tribute Portrait!
